Clarendon College Softball Coach

Candra McKee - Head Softball Coach/Student Services

Howard Payne University '07

In her third season at Clarendon College, Candra McKee has transformed the Softball program into a winner. McKee did the unthinkable leading her team to the regional tournament for the first time in school history during the 2008-2009 season and went into the final weekend with 28 wins setting a school record. Three players on the 2008-2009 squad earned all-conference honors and one earned the NFCA Scholar Athlete Award.

Taking over a program that had never had a winning season or gone to the post season she rolled her sleeves up and went to work, leading her first squad to a overall record of 16-32, the most wins in a season at Clarendon with two players from the squad receiving all-conference honors in 2007-2008.

McKee joined Clarendon College after spending one year as an assistant at Howard Payne University. While at Howard Payne, McKee experienced great success by helping lead them to a second place finish in the regular season with a record of 28-10 earning a bid to the conference tournament with 10 players receiving all-conference honors.

McKee, a standout player in her own right, played two seasons at Northeast Texas Community College. She then transferred to Howard Payne University to finish out her career. While at Howard Payne, she helped lead the team to their first post season appearance in five years in 2006.

She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Howard Payne Univeristy.
