General Course
Objectives Students will: § explore and discuss the literature of various
cultures. § develop active reading techniques for enhanced
comprehension. § develop critical thinking skills through essay
tests. § The student will be able to
demonstrate an awareness and to articulate an understanding of various works
of literature. § Through class discussion and
group work the student will demonstrate an understanding of literature as an
expression of individual and human values. § The student will construct
written analyses of literary works based upon research about and selection of
appropriate theories of literary criticism. § The student will construct
