Coach Mike Silva joined the program as head coach in 2008. He began his coaching career as an assistant for the Bulldogs in the fall of 2003 under then head coach Cory Hall.  During the 2003-2004 campaign, he played an instrumental role in the record-setting season in which the team was ranked 10th nationally, and had a season's best 43 wins. The Bulldogs also won the 2004 WJCAC North Division Championship and advanced to the Region 5 Tournament.  Coach Silva joined the team again in 2005 and helped guide the bulldogs to yet another Region 5 Tournament berth.

In 2008-2009 Coach Silva helped lead the Bulldogs to a 40-16 record and a Region 5 Runner-up finish.

In 2006-2007, Coach Silva was the head assistant at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.  While at Bethany, he helped guide the Swedes to a top 25 national ranking in the NAIA.

Coach Silva played collegiate baseball at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. While at Northwestern, he helped the Rangers set the record for the most wins in a season with 49, and achieve their highest ever national ranking of 7th.  During the 2001 season, Silva finished 19th nationally in hitting with a .429 batting average.

After completing his collegiate playing career, Silva signed a professional baseball contract with the Pensacola Pelicans, an Independent professional team in Pensacola, Florida, and was selected as a member of the all-star team in his rookie season. Coach Silva finished up his playing career in the Frontier League with the Richmond Roosters of Richmond, Indiana.

Coach Silva is a native of Hull, Massachusetts, and is married to the former Reagan Page of Perryton, Texas. Coach Silva and his wife reside in Clarendon.
